During my trip to Northern Virginia earlier in the month, my family spent an afternoon in Washington DC.
Our trip started off with two of my daughters and two grandchildren handing out cupcakes leftover from my granddaughter’s high school graduation party to the homeless in a DC park.
The Capital Building with a display of bones. The piles of bone displays were there to bring an awareness of genocide and the holocaust.
I don’t know the name of this building, but I think it has interesting architecture.
The main objective of our visit to DC was to spend time in the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum.
A few of the space rockets and a 1:3 scale model of the Mercury Capsule.
Flying machine of the Wright Brothers. See the figure of a man lying on the wing to maneuver the vehicle.
The highlight of the trip for me was seeing this balloon. I had seen it many years ago and I wanted to see it again.
There is so much to see and do in DC, it is a wonderful place to explore. No matter how many times I have been there, I always discover something I haven’t seen before.
