Snow in New England

Today it became a winter wonderland here in this area. The snow started falling around 9:30 this morning. It snowed all day. Traffic was a nightmare. I had driven out of town for an appointment and it took me an hour and a half to get home for a trip that is usually forty five minutes at the most. Once I was home here at my mountainous woodsy home, it was wonderful looking outside and seeing the beautiful white landscape. It reminds me of Robert Frost's poem Stopping in the Woods on a Snowy Evening. That's what makes living in New England so special.

Trees on the Green

After awakening this morning to a fabulous scenery of ice, I had the opportunity this evening to take a walk around the Green. The temperature was a brisk 34 degrees, but dressed in the proper clothing it was a very refreshing walk. We have one of the most beautiful Green's in New England. Every year Christmas trees dressed with multi-color lights running the length of the Green are lit. Lampposts on both sides of the street are dressed with evergreen garland, white lights and red bows. All the houses and buildings along the Green are festively dressed. And the churches are as distinguished as they have always been. Yes, this is a beautiful New England scene. The only thing missing was the snow.

Grey Day

It's a grey day and we are expecting some snowy/icy weather tonight. But it gives me an opportunity stay indoors and watch the New England Patriots do there thing once again.
I'm on a new fitness plan, so this weather is putting a kink into my outdoor exercise. But I'm using the exercise equipment I have in my home; mainly the Gazelle and the Aeropilate equipment. I'm also keeping a food log for the first time. I'm finding it very helpful. I joined Bob Greene's Bestlife program last Sunday. I have seen progress at the end of the first week, thats very encouraging.
