Time to Eat

Last week the snow had finally melted. I looked out the dining room window and not too far from the house I had the treat of watching a herd of deer. These deer always pass through, but they had stopped to have a meal in the hillside. At least this time they were not eating my shrubs. Oh yes, they have eaten every leaf off the Rhododendrons. Not to disturb them, but to be able to capture them I had to take these pictures through the window. At the end the one deer I was concentrating on decided to look at me for awhile before running off further up into the hills.

The snow had finally melted, and now it's back! The deer are pretty, but I can't tell, is there a fence around your yard to keep them out? I hear they're very destructive to landscaping.

Totally awesome to be able to have that happen. In the city here we just get wild dogs and cats. I do have some possums that sometimes come into my back yard. Plus and owl, sometimes flies around the neighborhood. But I guess we would have to go up into the mountains and get real lucky, to see what you did.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know I have just posted a Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe and if you have any good ones I hope you will share. If you try these, please let me know how they turn out.

God bless.

Joanne-no I don't have a fence. Everyone who lives on this road leave the land unfenced.

Having the snow back is nice. I looked outback at the hill and I am seeing the shadows of the trees the moon is forming on the snow. It's beautiful.

Mrsupole-I often see hawks soaring, they are so graceful.

I will look for your chocolate Chip recipe. How did your oatmeal cookies turnout?

Deer so close to your window?
Oh dear!
There's a skunk who lives in our backyard.
I would prefer a deer.

Auntie-when my youngest daughter was here with her two little boys last month, we saw the deer. Aand she said, "WOW! we could have some venison."

It is funny how they come around more, now that we kids aren't scampering all over the woods.
